Abstract

Human trafficking is regularly presented in 21st century crime fiction, frequently through stereotypes of femininity but rarely involving mothers or maternal experience. This article seeks to remedy this gap in representation by analysing two 21st Century crime novels featuring trafficking plots, focusing specifically on the politics of representing mothers.
