The Research Repository serves a number of purposes. As well as providing an archive of our staff's previous research, it also hosts our newest and most cutting-edge work. It increases the visibility of our research, and, in many cases, provides access to the full text, meaning that more people can see and make use of the work that we do, and that our research drives real-world change. Currently, we have over 6000 full-text items available, which means that over two thirds of the works deposited into the Research Repository have their full text attached. Works deposited may be peer-reviewed or non-peer reviewed.
We encourage any staff publishing peer-reviewed research to deposit the author accepted manuscript (AAM - the version that has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication, but not yet copyedited or typeset) as soon as possible after acceptance.
The Research Repository currently holds over 8000 items in a range of formats including:
It is also used to disseminate Open Educational Resources (OERs) for reuse and adaptation, subject to Creative Commons license terms.
Unpublished postgraduate research theses are made available as open access full text documents wherever possible.
The Research Repository is also our main reporting tool for Research Excellence Framework (REF). Previous REF submissions can be found on the repository by searching for REF2014 or REF2021 as a keyword (go to Advanced Search to do this).
