Abstract

Inspired by the idea of healthy ecosystems, as systems in which a multiplicity of beings and different ways of doing find interesting things to do together, participants explored these ideas through artistic research. This symposium emphasised working-with as a methodology, echoing what would occur in a sustainable and robust ecosystem. In Latvia Olczak presented examples of practice-based research undertaken addressing experiences of rural-urban spatial dynamics and the hybridity of physical and digital worlds. The works explore ideas of time, fragility and spatial experience through consideration of the cosmological and the geological. In Stockholm Olczak presented the methodologies employed in two collaborations involving the use of time-based media.
