Abstract
Plastic Fantastic - Or is it? As part of the Public lecture series at the University of Gloucestershire, Ballantyne and Williams gave this lecture to an audience of academics, students and general public (approx 90 people) on 30th Nov 2017. Ballantyne and Williams discussed the environmental disaster relating to plastics; sustainable viable alternatives and the circular economy model. The lecture featured Ballalntyne's own images from her 'Ocean Edge: Photographic Collection' and other installation and photographic artists, organizations and designers who are bringing about social change and innovation with regard to plastic and how its waste is being regarded as being a valuable commodity.
