Abstract
Short story published in PRISM: International. The piece is about a North American living in a small town in Britain who volunteers to join the search for a missing girl. It uses that storyline to explore themes of alienation and cultural discord, and the universal desire for belonging. The story was subsequently put forward as one of PRISM's Pushcart Prize nominations.
