Abstract

This presentation reviews the IS and IT issues involved in the acquisition strategy of HP Bulmer, the world's leading cider producer, from the late 1980s until the new Millenium. The presentation examines the integration and policy aspects of three UK acquisitions, and then focuses on joint ventures and acquisitions in five separate continents, as Bulmer pursued its quest to become an international drinks producer. It concludes by highlighting a number of lessons learnt over this period that may act as useful guidelines for other IT professionals involved in mergers and acquisitions.
