Abstract

Photographic work from Billingham's series 'Rays a Laugh' was exhibited in 'Generation X: Junge Kunst aus der Sammlung', Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, Germany, (8 July 2005 - 19 February 2006). This exhibition presented works by artists in the permanent collection born between 1960 and 1970 which belong to the generation outlined in Douglas Coupland's bestseller "Generation X". Other artists were Carl Andre, Christian Boltanski, Tony Cragg, Peter Fischli and David Weiss, Gilbert & George, Paul Graham, Andreas Gursky, Gary Hill, Damien Hirst, Rebecca Norn, Garry Hume, Anselm Kiefer, Jeff Koons, Bruce Nuaman, Thomas Shutte, Cindy Sherman, Lum Tymans, Jeff Wall, Andy Warhol and others. There was a fully illustrated catalogue.
