Abstract

Photographic work from Billingham's series 'Rays a Laugh' was exhibited in 'A Bigger Splash: British Art from Tate 1960 - 2003', Pavilhão Lucas Nogueira Garcez, São Paulo (4 August – 28 October 2003). The focus of the exhibition was on British Art from 1960 to the present, spanning four decades and including paintings,sculptures, prints, photographs and video installations. Other artists included Francis Bacon, Frank Auerback, Anthony Coro, Lucien Freud, David Hockney, Richard Hamilton, Leon Kossof, Bridget Riley, Hamish Fulton, Gilbert & George, Richard Long, Helen Chadwick, Tony Cragg, Richard Deacon, Susan Hiller, Anthony Gormley, Richard Wentworth, Anish Kapoor, Tracy Emin, Douglas Gordon, Mark Wallinger, Gillian Wearing, Racheal Whiteread, Julian Opie, Damien Hirst, Peter Doig and many others Visitor numbers were approx 250000
