Abstract

Billingham's art Video 'Fishtank' was programmed and screened in 'Crossing Boundaries 2000' Film Festival, Danish Film Institute, Cinemateket, Copenhagen, Denmark (3 - 21 May 2000). This Festival showcased the convergence of documentary and experimental form in contemporary independent film making. One of the festivals central stands was autobiography and the exploration or problematising of personal or cultural identity by film and video makers from around the world. Other participating artists included Eija - Liisa Ahtila, Doug Aitken, Chantal Akerman, Robert Frank and Annika Strom. There was a fully illustrated catalogue with essays by Tine Fischer, Arine Kirstein and Synnove Kjaerland.
