Abstract

Professor Dianne Catherwood's Inaugural Lecture 30 January 2014. Professor Dianne Catherwood presents an accessible and engaging overview of her work as part of the CRACKLE research project team to a mixed audience of colleagues, co-researchers, and friends. Dianne's research studies of the human mind have ranged from infancy to adulthood and have especially focussed on infant reactions to colours and faces as well as adult capacity to make decisions in professions where stress and danger and frequently present. With other CRACKLE researchers, Dianne has studied how fire and rescue professionals function under stress, particularly how the ability to reason is supported by situational awareness.
