Abstract
This chapter provides insight into the first author’s experiences of using Positive Pedagogy (PPed) for Sport Coaching as part of an empirical study conducted in part-fulfilment of her Sport Coaching: Children and Young People Master’s Degree, at a University in the UK. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of PPed for sport coaching in facilitating a holistic, child-centred approach for coaching children and young people in triathlon clubs. In this chapter Juliet reflects on a session she coached on transition. After setting the context briefly and explaining the study, we provide detail on its planning and delivery that Juliet reflects on. It was a training session aimed at improving awareness and decision-making during transition. This can also influence the future personal, social and emotional and cognitive development of each child and young person in our care.
