Abstract
Photographic urban landscape work from the series 'Black Country' was exhibited in 'EuroPART: Aktuelle Kunst aus Europa', Vienna and Salzburg, (27 December 2005 - 30 January 2006). The exhibition comprised works mounted on rolling boards in Vienna and Salzburg and was announced as the biggest exhibition of young European art in Austria. Work was exhibited by artists from all 25 European Union member countries. The exhibition was described as a discussion of recent developments in Europe and resulted in new ways of constructing space. It was conceived with the aim of contributing to the redefinition of space bought about by the expansion of EU territory. The use of billboards was motivated by an engagement with space and spacial organisation and the relationship between the organisation of public space and modes of perception typical of consumer society. Billboards with mounted art were placed in public spots and intended to function as conversation pieces. There was a fully illustrated catalogue.
