Abstract

Photographic work from the series 'Rays a Laugh' was exhibited in 'Here to Stay', Plymouth Arts Centre (24 Oct - 5 Dec 1998). It toured to Aberystwyth Arts Centre (12 Dec 1998 - 30 Jan 1999); The Metropole Arts Centre, Folkstone (15 May - 27 Jun 1999); The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Stoke on Trent (27 March - 9 May); Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle (15 May - 27 June) and Turnpike Gallery, Leigh (21 Aug - 31 Oct 1999). Besides Billingham, other artists included Claire Barclay, Christine Borland, Angela Bulloch, Tracey Emin, Anya Gallaccio, Laura Godfrey-Isaacs, Siobhan Hapaska, Permindar Kaur, Mariele Neudecker, Avis Newman, Kathy Prendergast, Jane Simpson, Rachel Whiteread and Richard Woods. There was a fully illustrated catalogue to the exhibition.
