Abstract
The state of India is faced with the challenge of providing basic services, like water, sanitation and energy, to what can be described as “hidden” and “messy” urban populations. Hyderabad is a megacity has been undergoing fast urbanization especially with the cyber turn the city took in 2000s the boundaries between villages, mandals, municipalities have been changing fast and rather randomly. Because data is limited on those “hidden” and “messy” populations, little is known for instance on the Knowledge, attitudes and practice with regard to sanitation and water. This two-minutes video is an illustration of the ground observations of the informal settlements in Hyderabad, India, conducted for the RUST project.
