Abstract

Photographic work from Billingham's series 'Rays a Laugh' was exhibited in 'Aqui Estamos', Circulo De Bella’s Artes De Madrid, Photo Espana, International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts, Spain, (6 June - 22 July 2012). This exhibition was part of the 'Photo Espana, International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts', 2012 and featured four photographers who have developed their work in very diverse geographical and generational contexts. Yet nevertheless, they each show a common interest in portraying stories in very specific environments or at the limit of the ordinary, as well as a capacity to generate unique moments of trust and intimacy with their subject matter.
