Abstract

Photographic work from Billingham's series 'Rays a Laugh' was exhibited in 'Family', Aldritch Museum of Contemporary Art, Connecticut, USA, 2002, (19th May - 4th September 2002). It was curated by Jessica Hough, Richard Klein, Claudia Matzko, Mathew McCaslin and Harry Philbrick. Poetry was selected by Steven Madoff. Other participating artists were Mark Bennett, Alan Berliner, Sanford Biggers Louise Bourgeois, Geneviève Cadieux, Sophie Calle, Chrissy Conant, John Corbin, Patricia Cronin, Laura Dunn, Nicole Eisenman, Margi Geerlinks, Travis Geery, Nan Goldin, Doug Hall, Geof Huth, Ginger Krebs, Maria Marshall, Josiah McElheny, Robert Melee, Sean Mellyn, Olu Oguibe, Tatsumi Orimoto, Adrian Piper, Barbara Pollack, Ernesto Pujol, Christoph Raitmayr, Faith Ringgold, Mira Schor with Ilya Schor and Resia Schor, Sandra Scolnik, Jonathan Seliger, Tony Tasset, Chris Verene, Mark Wallinger, Allan Wexler and Jin-me Yoon. Poetry was by Cal Bedient, W.S. Di Piero, Louise Glück, Linda Gregerson, Robert Hass, Brenda Hillman, Marie Howe, Sharon Olds, Molly Peacock and Martha Rhodes. There was a fully illustrated catalogue with poetry printed alongside artists work
