Abstract

As companies enter the 1990s, many are faced with managing the transition from proprietary hardware and software to more integrtaed systems portfolios based on "Open Systems" technologies such as the Unix operating system and Intel-chip based computers. This paper sets out how cider-maker HP Bulmer addressed this challenge, migrating its legacy systems to new packaged and bespoke software based largely on Oracle technoloy.
