This report presents the results of a socio-economic qualitative assessment of Local Economic Development (LED) training undertaken by villagers from Budo, Marinsow, Pulisan, and Tiwoho, of North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi as part of the Skills for Prosperity programme September 2020 – December 2022. The programme worked with people from these villages by providing skills training and ongoing support to develop sustainable tourism microbusinesses. The training and mode of delivery was designed to accommodate and encourage female participation, but did not exclude men. Research into understanding the impacts of the LED training involved collaboration between Universitas Klabat (UNKLAB), who were involved in delivering the skills modules, and University of Gloucestershire (UOG) a UK higher education partner in Skills for Prosperity who aided UNKLAB in completing the research.
