Island Life was an exhibition of British post - war Photography selected by Martin Parr and the Bristol City Art Museum from the Martin Parr Foundation in Bristol. The exhibition was part of the Bristol PhotoFestival 2021 A central aim of the exhibition was to provide a compelling study of national behaviour through British post war photography. The exhibition documented moments of historical significance including the poll tax riot, the Aberfan mine disaster and the Black Lives Matter movement. The exhibition also comprised images depicting the everyday – weddings, shopping, football and Butlin’s holidays. Besides Billingham, photographers included Khali Ackford, Pogus Caesar, Elaine Constantine, Sian Davey, Chris Killip, David Hurn, Ken Grant, Markéta Luskačová, Jill Quigley, Graham Smith, Tom Wood and other.
