Abstract

Billingham was invited to make a photographic work in Paris. It was exhibited in 'Photos Leurres, Mois de la Photo', Galerie de Jour Agnès B, Paris (10 November 1996 - 4 January 1997). Other artists were Lewis Baltz, Jean-Christian Bourcart, Emmanuel Bovet, Denis Dailleux, Denis Darzacq, John Davies, Raymond Depardon, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Alain Dister, Claudine Doury, Nan Goldin, Raymond Hains, Lucien Hervé, Steve Hiett, Louis Jammes, Hermine Karagheuz, Thierry Lefébure, Dolorès Marat, Manuella Marquès, Roberto Martinez, Jean-Luc Moulène, Florence Paradeis, Martin Parr, Slavica Perkovic, Bernard Plossu, Pierre Reimer, Sophie Ristelhueber, Willy Ronis, Paul Seawright, Georges Tony Stoll, Beat Streuli and Patrick Zachmann. There was a fully illustrated catalogue.
