Abstract

Classical Mash Up (Sound Triptych: duration 10 minutes) (extracts, duration 2'42) is a sonic tearing apart of 3 well known classical pieces, of music, Prokofiev's "Troika", Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy" and Mussorgsky's "Night on Bare Mountain". The piece acts as a a Chapmanesque rectification, in sound, and fails in its ability to take a "classic" and smash it to bits. Premiered at The Literary Salon, Peckham, London in July 2011
